This firm holds a national contract and is, therefore, bound by an overall standard typical for offices and workstations as well as ancillary furniture. The challenge, then comes not from finish selection or general programming but from the build out itself. Space planning and attention to details coming from site conditions is first and foremost. Accommodating the furniture to fit the space and identifying new solutions where the standard doesn't fit is often a challenge that has to be met. In these cases, I work with the designer, real estate PM, and subcontractors as an advocate for the client to best meet their needs. As with all projects site visits for field measuring/verification and locating power and wall-backing remains vital to installation and overall project success.
This Walnut Creek location was a capitol project that consisted of 40 private offices and 35 workstations.
